SPORTACCORD
SportAccord is the only sports convention of its kind to be “owned by sport.”
Now in its eighth year, SportAccord attracts a global audience of 1500 delegates from sports governing bodies, rights holders, bidding and host cities, organizing committees, service providers, consultants and other commercial entities.
SportAccord is owned by The General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), and The Association of Winter Olympic Federations (AIOWF).
These three organizations have a collective membership of more than 100 International Sports Federations who in turn own and manage over 1,000 international sports events in over 100 different sports disciplines. These rights holders gather each year with leading sports businesses, multi-sports organizers, and the International Olympic Committee to share knowledge and to do business at SportAccord.
Don Schumacher has spoken at six of the first eight SportAccords: Madrid, Lausanne, Beijing, Athens, Denver, and Dubai. SportAccord 2011 takes place in London, England.
