Tom Gamble

Tom Gamble joined Don Schumacher and Associates in May 1997 after spending more than a decade working in the sports industry. During his professional career, he has gained experience in athletic administration, fund raising, marketing, promotion, public relations, and journalism.

Gamble has been instrumental in the development and success of the DSA Prep Sports Division, for which he serves as its director. He is responsible for the creation, sale, and execution of its entire event line up, including the signature event, the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown – the nation’s biggest high school football event. This unique event is now a three day, eight-game prep gridiron extravaganza that is a showcase of the quality of high school football programs in Greater Cincinnati and Dayton.

Other DSA Prep Sports event include a weekly high school football promotion in conjunction with WLWT-TV, the Cincinnati NBC affiliate; and a series of ten live Thursday night high school football games in conjunction with FSN Ohio.

He also did extensive work on a study that led to the creation of Kentucky Speedway, a major motorsports facility in Northern Kentucky. Gamble and DSA played an integral role in the early development stages of the speedway.

Prior to working for DSA, Gamble spent more than 10 years as a reporter for the Cincinnati Post, including five years as sports editor of The Kentucky Post, where he directed the sports operation of Northern Kentucky’s best-selling daily newspaper.

From 1986 to 1989, Gamble worked in the athletic department at Northern Kentucky University. He spent two years as the school’s Sports Information Director, where he was responsible for media relations, promotions and marketing for each sport and then served as the athletic department’s Director of Development, and placed in charge of fund raising, sponsorship sales and development for the athletic department. Gamble currently serves as the Director of Sports Business in the university’s college of business and teaches courses in sports marketing, sports promotion, event management and sports public relations.

An active member of the Cincinnati media, Gamble is co-host of a morning drive radio talk show. Gamble and his partner, Richard Skinner, have appeared on this show for many years.

Gamble is now an independent contractor working closely with DSA on the development of each prep season.
